Sharing My Story
A Journey from Stress to Empowerment
I was the driving force, leading multiple teams, innovating sustainable practices. On the surface, it was a picture of success, but beneath, a different story was unfolding.
Like a frog in slowly boiling water, I was unaware of the rising temperature. The relentless pace and mounting pressures gradually eroded my well-being. Emotional turmoil became my constant companion; endless worry, an inability to relax, sleep deprivation and a pervasive sense of isolation.
Physically, my body cried out: persistent headaches, muscle aches, sleep that never refreshed. Yet, I continued to push harder, driven by an unwavering commitment to my career and teams.
The onset of the pandemic only dialed up the stressors. The constant demand for more, rapid pivoting and firefighting accelerated, and the full extent of my stress hit me like a tidal wave. My once passionate career had become an unsustainable burden. My symptoms worsened, emotional and nervous system dysregulation, constant worry, muscle pain, and severe sleep problems. The unrelenting pace led me to a breaking point where I realized I had to step back from the industry I loved and embark on a journey to reclaim my health and sanity.
My path to recovery was neither quick nor simple. It was a tapestry woven from therapies like CBT, DBT, breath work, and meditation. Studying the autonomic nervous system, polyvagal theory, sleep science, mindset and life coaching revealed the interconnectedness of mind and body. These weren't just therapeutic techniques; they were lifelines that pulled me from the depths of my distress and reshaped my approach to health.

Inspired by my journey, I founded Life Mind Body Mastery. My mission is clear: to empower both individuals and organizations to understand, manage stress and cultivate well-being. To share the insights and tools that transformed my life.
For years, I, like many others, saw stress as nothing more than a byproduct of being busy and exhausted, a price to pay in the pursuit of a successful career, and to be honest after decades of living with stress I had inadvertently come to accept it as a normal state of being, and it wasn't until I had removed myself and embarked on my recovery journey that it became clear how profound the impact on my health and well-being had been. I realized that this lack of awareness was not unique to me. Many individuals and companies, despite their success, are also unaware of the true nature of stress and its detrimental effects.
We spend a significant portion of our lives at work, with the remainder divided between sleep and precious moments with our loved ones. Recognizing the critical importance of this balance, organizations like UN, WHO, ILO, and Safe Work Australia emphasize that managing stress isn't solely the individual's responsibility. Employers have a duty to understand and mitigate psychosocial risks, equipping staff with adequately skills required specific to roles and industry and ensure a safe work environment.

Our unique approach blends a variety of evidence-based techniques, reflecting the multifaceted approach that were instrumental in my own recovery.
